Taking marketing into the digital age

It said that the digital marketing division specialises in a full range of digital marketing services such as search marketing, online campaigns and mobile marketing.

Kent Wertime,OgilvyOne Asia-Pacific president,said there is much need to promote digital marketing in Malaysia and the rest of the region.

“Already half a billion people in Asia are connected online so there’s definitely a lot of potential for companies to reach out to new customers,” he said.

However, many companies are still not confident in carrying out marketing campaigns online, according to OgilvyOne.

“The challenge facing digital marketing is that less than 5% of a company’s budget is (usually) -allocated to this type of marketing,” Wertime said.

“Many companies have set up their own websites but that alone is not enough because digital media expands beyond your typical website,” he said. “Companies now need to keep tabs on their search visibility on popular search engines, such as Google, and to use viral videos to increase awareness of their product or service.”
